Split PDF
Separate PDF pages into clean new files — free, unlimited and private. Extract just the pages you need, split a big document into equal parts, or cut it up by page ranges. Your file never leaves your device.
- 100% free, no sign-up
- No watermark
- Files never uploaded
- Works on phone & desktop
Drag & drop your PDF here
or click to browse — one PDF at a time
Choose a PDF filePrivate by design: splitting runs 100% in your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server — nothing leaves this device.
Type page numbers and ranges separated by commas — or just tap the pages below. Both stay in sync.
Each line becomes its own PDF, and all of them arrive together in one ZIP. A single page on its own line (like 7) is fine too.
Splitting…
Your split is ready
How to split a PDF
Three steps, no accounts and no software to install. This free PDF splitter works the same on a laptop, tablet or phone.
Add your PDF
Drag and drop your file into the box above, or click to browse. The tool reads it on your device and shows the page count, so you know exactly what you're working with.
Choose how to split
Extract lets you hand-pick pages, Split every N pages cuts the document into equal chunks, and Split by ranges turns each range you type into its own file.
Download your files
Press Split PDF. One resulting PDF downloads directly; several come bundled in a single ZIP — every page at its original quality, no watermark.
Three ways to split a PDF
Different jobs need different cuts. Pick the mode that matches what you're trying to pull out of the document.
Extract pages
A PDF page extractor for when you only need some of the pages. Tap the page previews to pick them visually, or type ranges like 1-3, 5, 8-10 — the two stay in sync. You get one new PDF holding exactly those pages, in their original order.
Split every N pages
The fastest way to break a long document into even pieces. Set N — say 5 — and a 20-page PDF becomes four files of pages 1–5, 6–10, 11–15 and 16–20, delivered in one ZIP. Set N to 1 and every page becomes its own file.
Split by ranges
For uneven cuts — chapters, sections, signed pages. Write one range per line (1-3, then 4-6, then 7) and each line becomes its own PDF, all bundled into one ZIP with clear names like pages-1-3.pdf.
Why split PDFs with All Tools Max?
Most online PDF splitters upload your documents to their servers and limit free use. This one doesn't — and won't.
Completely free & unlimited
Split as many PDFs as you want, into as many parts as you want. No daily caps, no page limits, no "pro" version waiting behind a paywall.
Private — file never uploaded
The splitting happens on your own device with JavaScript. Contracts, payslips and ID documents stay exactly where they belong: with you.
No watermark, original quality
Pages are copied into the new files exactly as they are — text stays selectable, images stay sharp, links keep working. Nothing is stamped or re-compressed.
No sign-up, ever
No email address, no account, no newsletter trap. Open the page, separate your PDF pages, download, done.
Common reasons to separate PDF pages
- Pull one chapter — extract the single chapter or lesson you need from a big textbook or manual instead of sharing the whole file.
- Send only the relevant pages — pull the two pages a client, teacher or bank actually asked for, and keep the rest of the document private.
- Split scanned bundles — a scanner that saved 40 pages as one PDF becomes separate documents again, one scan at a time.
- Separate invoices — cut a month-end PDF of many invoices into one file per invoice for your records or accountant.
- Share one form from a pack — extract a single form or annex from a long application pack without printing everything.
- Shrink an attachment — when a full report is too big to email, send just the section that matters.
Limits & tips for a clean split
- Page order is always preserved. Whichever mode you use, pages come out in their original order — extracted pages are never shuffled.
- Multi-file splits arrive as a ZIP. Browsers can only download one file at a time, so several output PDFs are bundled into a single ZIP. If a split makes exactly one PDF, it downloads directly, with no ZIP.
- Password-protected PDFs can't be split. If your file is encrypted, the tool will name it and stop. Open it in your PDF reader, remove the password (or print it to a new PDF), then split that copy.
- Everything runs on your device. Splitting speed depends on your phone or computer. Very large PDFs (hundreds of pages or 100 MB+) still work on most desktops, but an older phone may take a while — extract in smaller groups if it does.
- Ranges are checked before anything is built. A page number that's too big, a backwards range like 5-2, or a typo is flagged with the exact problem — nothing downloads until the ranges are valid.
- A 1-page PDF has nothing to split. Extract still works on it (you'll get a clean copy of that page), but the other modes need at least 2 pages to divide.
Split PDF — frequently asked questions
Is this Split PDF tool really free?
Yes. Split as many PDFs as you like, as often as you like — no sign-up, no watermark, no trial limits and no page caps. The tool is completely free.
Is my PDF file uploaded to a server?
No. The split happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device, nothing is sent to or stored on a server, and closing the tab removes everything.
Will splitting change the quality of my PDF?
No. Pages are copied into the new files exactly as they are — text stays selectable, images stay sharp, links keep working, and every page keeps its original size. Nothing is re-compressed or rasterised.
How many pages can I split at once?
There is no fixed page limit. Because the work happens on your device, very large PDFs (hundreds of pages) split fine on most computers; on an older phone, splitting a huge file may take a little longer.
Why do I get a ZIP file instead of a PDF?
When a split produces several PDFs, a browser can only download one file at a time — so the parts are bundled into a single ZIP for you. Open the ZIP to find each part as its own PDF. If a split produces just one PDF, that PDF downloads directly.
Can I split a PDF on my phone?
Yes. The tool works in any modern mobile browser. Tap the drop zone to pick your PDF, tap the pages you want (or type the page numbers), and tap Split — the new files download to your device.
