Choose a PDF file

Private by design: cropping runs 100% in your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server — nothing leaves this device.

How to crop a PDF

Three steps, no accounts and no software to install. This free PDF cropper works the same on a laptop, tablet or phone.

1

Add your PDF

Drag and drop your file into the box above, or click to browse. The first page opens in the visual editor, with its size and page count shown so you know what you're working with.

2

Draw the crop

Drag the box and its handles over the live preview — or press Remove white margins and let the tool hug the content for you. Fine-tune with exact millimetre trims, then choose all pages, one page, or a range.

3

Download the cropped PDF

Press Crop PDF. Pages are copied exactly — text, images and quality untouched — with the new page area set to your box. Pages outside your scope keep their original size.

One honest thing about cropping: like every standard PDF cropper (Acrobat included), this tool sets the visible page area — it hides the trimmed edges rather than permanently deleting the underlying content, which can still exist inside the file. That's exactly right for tidying margins, scans and slides. But if something must be gone for good — a signature, an ID number, a home address — you need a redaction tool, and you shouldn't share a merely-cropped file as if the content had been erased.

Why crop PDFs with All Tools Max?

Most online PDF croppers upload your documents to their servers, cap your free files, or stamp the result. This one doesn't — and won't.

Completely free & unlimited

Crop as many PDFs as you want, as often as you want. No daily caps, no page-count limits for "free users", no pro version hiding the good settings.

Private — file never uploaded

The cropping happens on your own device with JavaScript. Contracts, payslips, ID scans and medical letters stay exactly where they belong: with you.

Visual editor + smart auto-crop

See exactly what will remain before you commit: drag the box over a real preview of your page, watch the size readout in points and millimetres, or let auto-crop find the content edges on every page at once.

No sign-up, ever

No email address, no account, no newsletter trap. Open the page, crop your PDF, download, done.

Common reasons to trim a PDF's pages

Tips for a clean, even crop

  • Use one shared box for books and decks. Under Auto-crop, choose "All pages · one shared box" so every page ends up the exact same size — per-page boxes hug tighter, but pages that change size look ragged in a reader.
  • Keep a little breathing room. A padding of 6 pt (about 2 mm) stops text from kissing the edge of the page, which looks better on screen and survives home-printer margins. Use 12 pt if the document will be printed.
  • Check a few pages before applying. Flip through with Prev / Next — a stamp, signature or page number sometimes sits lower than the body text, and the preview is the cheapest way to catch it.
  • Cropping won't shrink the file much. It changes the page area, not the data inside — so a cropped PDF is usually about the same size as the original. If file size is the problem, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.
  • Only some pages misbehave? Crop a range. Apply to "1-3, 5" and leave the good pages untouched — there's no rule that a whole document needs the same trim.

Crop PDF — frequently asked questions

Is this Crop PDF tool really free?

Yes. Crop as many PDFs as you like, as often as you like — no sign-up, no watermark, no trial limits and no page-count caps. The tool is completely free.

Is my PDF file uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device, nothing is sent to or stored on a server, and closing the tab removes everything.

Does cropping delete the trimmed content permanently?

Honestly: no — and that is true of every standard PDF cropper, including Acrobat. Cropping sets the visible page area (the crop box): the trimmed edges are hidden from view and from printing, but the underlying content can still exist inside the file and may be recoverable. That is perfect for tidying margins, scans and slides. If you need content irreversibly removed — a signature, an address, personal data — you need a redaction tool, not a cropper, and you should not share a merely-cropped file as if the content were gone.

Will cropping reduce the quality of my PDF?

No. Your pages are copied exactly as they are — text stays sharp and selectable, images keep their original resolution, links keep working. Only the page boxes change: the tool sets the crop box (and matches the media box) to the area you chose. Nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed, so there is no quality loss at all.

Can I crop just one page, or a range of pages?

Yes. Under Apply to, choose All pages, This page only, or Page range and type something like 1-3, 5. Pages outside the scope keep their original size and are copied into the new file unchanged — useful when only the scanned pages of a document carry fat borders, or one page needs a different trim.

Can I crop a PDF on my phone?

Yes. The visual editor works with touch: drag the crop box to move it and pull the corner handles to resize. For very fine adjustments, the millimetre inputs under the preview are easier on a small screen. The cropped file downloads straight to your device.
